Gato Blanco is a software studio based in Nairobi, Kenya. We build B2B and B2C software with two priorities: performance and security. Not as marketing language — as engineering constraints that shape every decision from architecture to deployment.

The studio was founded in 2025 with a straightforward operating model. Client work funds product development. The retainer side of the business builds web applications, mobile apps, and custom platforms for organizations that need software they can rely on. The product side builds Netglare, a monitoring platform that tracks uptime, server response, DNS records, TCP ports, and SSL certificates for businesses that take their infrastructure seriously.

We work with two kinds of organizations. The first is businesses that have outgrown their current software and need something built properly — scalable architecture, clean APIs, and infrastructure that performs under load. The second is conservation and advocacy NGOs across East Africa that need technology platforms capable of handling the complexity of their programs without the overhead of a full internal engineering team.

Our team ships in two-week sprints. We write about what we build, including the parts that didn't work on the first attempt, because we think the process of building software is worth being honest about. The blog is a record of that work — sprint updates, technical deep-dives, and the occasional lesson learned the hard way.
